Antique letter clip by Jean Perille!
The antique paper clip in the shape of a duck's head "Le canard" was invented in 1911 by Louis Baltzley. It was made for the first large French department store, "Au bon marche", which was located in the 7th district of Paris, founded in 1838 by the brothers Videau.
The paper clip was made by Jean Perille. The initials on the bottom confirm this.
The design, originally by Louis Baltzley, has been changed slightly over time, whereby the mechanism and the basic shape have always remained the same.
The duck's head is made of metal, the eyes are made of glass. "Le canard" was created between 1931-1937.
