This HELICE corkscrew was designed and patented around 1920 by the French J. Perille.
Helice means "wing screw" in German.
A self-sweating cork can be easily removed by turning the wing screw.
Perille designed the handle of the corkscrew after the shape of Napoleon's hat and gave it his name.
The Helice is considered to be the Rolls-Royce of wine bottle openers.
It is popular with wine lovers and collectors.
